Peripheral free standing walls in red and yellow have been erected for children to play on, jump over, look across and run between with openings given at different heights, intervals and sizes.
The assembly area is covered with a tapered vaulted roof on a metal crisscross frame with a overlapping fibre panels much like fish scales. The water draining from this structure falls into troughs on either side.
The area has an egg shaped plan to introduce a free flowing curvilinear quality to the space. That with square openings and diamond shaped roof panels together incorporate most of the basic shapes, the tactility of which children from ages 5-10 should be allowed to explore.
